The Upside Blend
The Upside Show on CHEK 6 started as a great idea to showcase positive stories in the community and around the world as a way to bring some levity and smiles to their viewers. It then became a tie-in with local businesses who were trying to adapt at the time how COVID-19 was impacting the business community. Ed and Jeff have created a reputation for bring awareness to a number of unique small businesses and in celebration of their efforts, we’ve partnered with The Upside to create a unique blend of coffee, exclusively sold at Fresh Cup Roastery Café. The Upside Blend is the combination of 3 single-origin organic beans roasted to perfection, then artisan blended so all of their best characteristics shine through in the cup.

Roastery Cafes
The Roastery Café is the next evolution of the coffee house. Roastaire’s ‘Theatre of Roasting’ experience presents a new & exciting retail coffee opportunity and a revenue generating cornerstone for any café or grocery store.
In-house micro-roasting has become a gastronomic art, much like micro-brewing & brew pubs. More and more cafés are opting to make specialty micro-roasted coffee and the ‘theatre of roasting’ the cornerstone of their operation, as more and more consumers are demanding nuanced flavours and true freshness in their coffee experience. With Roastaire™, you can centre your café around truly fresh coffee – an experience they can taste in the cup, see in action and take home in bean form.
In-café roasting opens up new revenue verticals and provides a unique differentiator in a competitive café market. The Roastaire™ was designed to provide virtually any café the ability to roast in-house. It can be installed in high-density, urban locations because of its space saving design and minimal emissions. It is also less expensive to operate, providing significant energy savings
Roastaire’s elegant, stainless-steel design and compact footprint make it an appealing café element. Roastaire™ owners can feature the roaster directly in view of their customers – making roasting itself a focal point of their café experience.
Roastaire™ can produce 30 lbs. of freshly roasted beans per hour (180 lbs. per 6 hr roasting session), which in a retail environment is significant for a strong retail bean-sales business model.
CASK CONDITIONED
Promising unique new taste experiences for coffee lovers, cask conditioned craft coffee beans are deeply infused with carefully chosen ingredients, conditioned in oak casks, and then roasted in small batches. Some highly successful Roastaire™ roasted infusions have included bourbon, amber rum, and honey-mead wine, which recently scored an impressive 93 Points from Coffee Review. This roast received tasting notes describing it as ‘fruit-toned spirits, crisp roasted cacao nib in aroma and cup, velvety mouth feel, long persistent finish’. Roastaire™ technology enables the precision roasting needed to optimize the flavour of each new variety of infused beans offering flavour qualities that are often unexpected, and are always rich, complex and full of subtle nuances.

Bourbon Cask Conditioned Nitro Cold Brew
For the past three years, Fresh Cup has innovated with Nitro Cold Brew well-ahead of the large coffee chains that have decided to make it popular. Found in both in our Saanichton and Panorama locations, you will find our Award-Winning Nitro Cold Brew, consisting of our unique Bourbon Cask Conditioned craft beans, as one of the 3 varieties used to make this incredibly smooth and refreshing beverage. This cold brew is so convincing, you’ll swear you just pulled yourself a glass of chocolatey Guinness, but it’s even better, it’s coffee!
Freshly Roasted Hazelnuts
Hands down *the best* hazelnuts you will try, we roast them to perfection in our #Roastaire coffee roaster. Air-roasted hazelnuts yields a super sweet nutty tasty that makes you want to come back for more. Sourced locally from Wade’s Hazelnut farm in the beautiful town of #Chemainus, on Vancouver Island. They only come around through the fall and winter, so be sure to grab some before they're gone. Did You Know: Hazelnuts are high in HDL (high density lipoproteins)? Also a great snack for diabetics.
